Own your stuff
No, it has nothing to do with material things, but all to do with your feelings and emotions.
A dear friend called me today and said that one of her best friends had started to act so strange lately. When my friend shared feelings that were challenging, her friend did not want to hear about it and dismissed those feelings as unnecessary.
I am not saying that I "own my stuff" all the time, but I have got much better at realizing when it has to do with the other person and not with me. It is not always easy to remove yourself from what others project to you, but mostly it is their stuff, not yours.
To own your stuff is one of the ways to become more and more your own person and feel empowered.

Himalayan Crystal Salt - pink salt
For a long time we have been told that salt is not good for us. That is causes fluid retention and that it can cause disease.
Some years ago I first heard about Himalayan Crystal Salt and that it was having a different chemical composition than regular table and sea salt. And that it was much better for our bodies. Salt in its original form consists of sodium and chloride plus many important minerals and trace elements. For some reason these minerals and trace elements have been considered impure and have been removed when making the salt that we buy in stores. What is mostly left is sodium and chloride which the body seems to feel is a poison.
By eating too much salt (which many people do today) they overload their bodies with the "toxic" salt. "Their bodies now try to isolate the over dose of salt. In this process, water molecules surround the sodium chloride in order to ionize it into sodium and chloride to neutralize it. For this process, the water is extracted from our cells and the body has to sacrifice its most precious cell water in order to neutralize sodium chloride. In doing so, the dehydrated body cells die." (Quote from Himalayancrystalsalt.com).
For many years I did not think too much of the kind of salt I ate. I did not like the salt with added iodine so I avoided that, but I used sea salt and sometimes herbal salt. The sea salt is probably better than the "straight" table salt with added iodine, but I learned earlier this summer that sea salt (as well as table salt) often contains an anti-caking agent which is not good to consume on a regular basis.
Therefore, I recently bought Himalayan Crystal Salt which is supposed to be mined somewhere in the Himalayan area and it is said to still contain all the important minerals and trace elements that regular salt has been stripped of. It is also said to actually regulate the water balance in the body.
The salt has a completely different color than regular salt. It is slightly pink and is actually very pretty. If you can say that a salt is pretty. :) When I tasted it for the first time I actually could feel a "rush" in my body which I know is a signal that something is good for me. This, of course, can never be proven, it is just my own, inner sense of what is good and not good for me. You do not need that much salt when using this kind of salt. Also, the Himalayan Crystal Salt does not contain any anti-caking agents which means that it can cake together but to me that is not any inconvenience.
There has been much talk about this salt being a scam and that it is really road salt from Pakistan. I am sure there are companies imitating the original product. As always, you have to use your inner guidance when you buy these kinds of products. The salt I bought was the kind that has been endorsed by the people who started selling this kind of salt and it has a stamp of authenticity.
The company that is selling the original Himalayan Crystal Salt has also published a book called "Water & Salt" which is a very interesting book about many misconceptions we have about both water and salt.

I will most likely not use the salt I have been using most of my life as this crystal salt just feels so much better for my body.

A new start
This blog has been dormant for quite a while. Not sure why really but life seems to have "taken over" for a while.
Will have to see how spirit moves me to write posts. Much has happened in the world since I last wrote. The big earthquake and nuclear disaster in Japan in March, extreme (very extreme) weather patterns here in the US, the ongoing financial meltdown in the US and the world, new discoveries regarding the Sun and a new comet that many people say is the beginning of the big change in 2012, etc, etc.
Not sure exactly where to start but there is much going on for sure. In my personal life there have not been as many changes. The only area would be my job. If you live in California there are many budget cuts everywhere, and these have happened also in my workplace. Also, most of the spring I felt a need to change my diet to some extent and also take extra supplements as a response to what had happened in Japan. The US West Coast was hard hit by what came from Japan, despite what officials were telling people.
This was just a short "warmup" and I am hoping to be back soon again.

Creating a home
Most of my life I have felt a bit "alien" here on Earth. When my dad was still alive he and I used to say that we were walking a somewhat lonely path as most people did not seem to have the same interests and longings as we did.
In the past few months I have come face to face with a strong feeling that has always been inside of me. It is a feeling of not really being able to create a home here on Earth for myself.
I believe that things usually happen for a reason and if you are awake and alert to what is going on around you, it is possible to understand and work with issues that come up. I am renting a house where this issue of not feeling at home was exaggerated and I got some very deep understandings and was able to work with these issues in different ways and move through them.
The interesting thing is that when you have done your "homework" you are usually ready to move on but right now I am stuck in a rental contract for another 7 months. When those kinds of situations are going on, then you just have to do the best you can and do the preparatory work so that things can start falling into place.
What I usually do is to go inside and ask to get guidance. I also do intuitive readings that are very helpful in getting answers. It is also important to focus on the kind of feeling you want to have in your new situation. You can use music, images etc to create that feeling. This cottage gives me a nice feeling of a home.

I am ready to find and create my home now! Maybe 2011 will be the year when that happens. I hope so. :)

Happy New 2011
A new year with a blank slate. We can create whatever we want.
Lately I have experienced how your own feelings and thoughts can create actual physical manifestations. For me they were less positive. Just to know that can make a difference and once you are aware of this pattern you can choose something different. I am choosing to do my best to change things around this year. :)
A while ago I found some great, very relaxing music videos (well mostly pictures actually) on YouTube uploaded by Paldrom. There are 9 of them and each one has its own quality.
This is the first one. If you like it you can click on number 2 and so on.
Listen and enjoy!

Reincarnation and past lives
Many of us can sometimes feel that we have a deja-vu - something seems very familiar and it feels as if we already have experienced the same situation before. Reincarnation is the belief that the human soul never dies but just passes through a succession of lives. Reincarnation is vital to Hinduism and BuddhismYears ago I read a book called "Yesterday's Children" by Jenny Cockell. I already believed in reincarnation and that we live more than one life (anything else seems very foreign to me) but this book was interesting as it showed how a young woman in the US remembers a past life that she had in early 20th-century Ireland. This is a true story that also was made into a movie with Jane Seymour. The movie was actually based on the second book called "Across Time and Death" but named after the first book. Jenny Cockell became famous for her books and the movie and many people got a glimpse into the reincarnation concept.
Already when I was 11 or 12 I came into contact with the reincarnation concept and it seemed very natural right away. Why would we only live one life? That did not make any sense to me. As a psychic clairvoyant I have seen past lives that I have had as well as clients' past lives. It is fascinating and I am amazed every time I come into contact with these previous life times.
Some people are skeptic and want proof. This is probably one of those areas where we most likely cannot get scientific proof but just have to go with our intuition and gut feeling.

Life changing books and movies
Books and movies can sometimes have profound and life changing effects on a person's life. One book had that effect on my life. When I was around 10 a good friend of my family suggested that I would read the book "The Silver Chair" by CS Lewis - in Swedish it is called "Silvertronen" (I could not read English very well when I was that young so I read the Swedish edition). It is one of the books in the Narnia series.
The woman who let me borrow her book had a strong intuition and obviously knew that this would be a very good book for me to read as a young girl.
This book started my spiritual path and was the starting point for everything that I am today. Not bad for one book. ;) On some level this book triggered memories of things that I already knew and things I wanted to know more about. It ignited a spark inside of me that has guided me to be on a spiritual path ever since.
Later I read all the Narnia books and loved every one of them. When the movies came out I watched them with great joy. The first movie "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" was fantastic to see. I did not care about the underlying Christian message that triggered reactions in many people but just enjoyed the magic of the book that was very well captured in the movie. What the book I first read (The Silver Chair) reminded me of was the magic that is everywhere and that we are a part of it. I have always had this feeling that magic is more natural than "non-magic."
Another book that also changed my life is "Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting" by Lynn Grabhorn. This is what I wrote about that book. A completely different kind of book but it has the same quality of lighting a spark and it also shows the magic we can have in our lives.
I will come back to other books and movies that have had a big effect on my life and that are truly inspiring.

Astrology for the Soul
I am not an astrologer, neither do I know a lot about astrology. However, I know that "real" astrology can be of help for a person to understand him/herself.Several years ago I read a book called "Astrology for the Soul," written by Jan Spiller. The book came in my way as books sometimes do - when I am supposed to learn or understand something I am guided to a certain book. This book covers a certain aspect of the astrological chart - the North Node of the Moon. There are two aspects of the Moon Node - the South and the North Nodes. The South Node shows a person's past or his/her karma. The North Node shows where a person is heading and his/her potential so that is what this book is focusing on.
The North Node is not specific to a certain day or time but covers about 1.5 year in a certain sign. In the book there is an easy-to-read chart that helps the reader to locate which sign the North Node was in when he/she was born.
When I read about "my" sign I was totally blown away by the accuracy of the information. I read my chapter with a smile most of the time, nodding my head. The North Nodes for my parents and my husband at that time (who later unexpectedly passed away) were just as accurate. Each chapter covers a sign and is divided into different sections : Overview, Personality, Needs, Relationships, and Goals.
The book also gives information about which sign the House would be for your North Node. This, of course, means that you need an astrological chart to locate the North Node.
This book has helped me tremendously over the years to develop as a person and understand challenges that I am/have been faced with. It also has helped me see the potential that I have and where I am heading. This book gets "thumbs up." :)

To be in the flow
To be in the flow is quite magical. Things just fall into place as if someone/something makes sure that you meet the right people at the right time and that you think of something at the exact right moment.
Today has been such a day. I was supposed to get in touch with a person who delivers heating fuel in the area where I live. I had however not heard from him and did not know when he was going to come. I was about the leave for an appointment and 10 minutes before I left he showed up at my house! I could check a couple of things that I had had questions about. If I had left just a bit earlier I would not have been able to talk with him. I also ran into him in town at his office and could get further confirmation regarding a question I had.
It is fun when things magically unfold and there is absolutely no effort. Some days have more of that quality than other days. My experience is that a lot has to do with how my inner focus and energy are. If I worry and become concerned, usually things do not flow very well. If I stay uplifted and positive, the overall flow seems to increase.
There is something called "The Law of Attraction," - "That which is like unto itself is drawn." What this means is that if we focus on negative feelings we will draw similar feelings and events into our lives. If we, on the other hand, focus on positive feelings, we will draw events into our lives with a similar frequency and vibration. I fully believe in this as I have seen it happen over and over in my own life.
In 2006 the film "The Secret" was released. It was based on the Law of Attraction and became a big hit all over the world. It was later developed into a book as well. The movie and book received widespread attention in the media - Oprah Winfrey covered this topic in her show and the TV-show Saturday Night Live also talked about this "law" (which of course is not a law). One of the most widespread groups/organizations to talk about the Law of Attraction is Abraham-Hicks.
Some people use this principle every in their daily lives and have amazing results.

Music for Relaxation
Music is an important tool for relaxation. It can change a person's mood and energy in a really dramatic way. Many times when I have felt uptight or stressed I have been able to relax when listening to soothing and uplifting music.
There are many artists who call themselves "New Age" and that music often claims to have the goal to relax the listener. To me the title is less important than the actual music. It is of course a really individual choice which music fits your taste. I have a few CDs that have become favorites and I wanted to share those here.
Ma Jana (have not seen many CDs from this person) and it seems as if they might be a bit hard to get hold of but Amazon still sells them. You can also listen to samples on the Amazon web site:

Reiki - Part One
Reiki - Part Two
These can be used when you treat with Reiki but can also be used when just wanting to listen to really calming and soothing music. I am a Reiki Master and found them when I was looking for music for doing Reiki treatments.
Two other CDs that have components of nature sounds but also have "real," very inspiring music are. They were released by Rising Star Records (which is no longer in business as far as I know) with various artists:
Forest Cathedrals (also hard to get hold of unfortunately but sold by Amazon)
Seashore Solitude (have not been able to locate it online but it might be available through private sellers)
Listen and enjoy!

Medical Qi Gong
One of my favorite ways to energize my body and start moving the Qi - or life force energy - in my body is to use Qi Gong.
When I still lived in Sweden I learned Medical Qi Gong from the Chinese Medical Qi Gong teacher Pu Guang. We met for a whole weekend and learned different movements that would affect how the Qi moves within the body. Medical Qi Gong is 5000 years old and originated in China. It aims at preventing disease and regain health after an illness.
The method I learned is called "Five Ways for a Long Life" (translated from the Swedish name). By practicing this method the life force will be strengthened and balanced within the body. Also the immune system and the body's own healing ability are strengtened. Many different problems can be addressed by practicing Qi Gong: allergies, high blood pressure, headaches, stress, back problems, etc.
Qi Gong is a holistic treatment for body and soul and is also a fascinating way to develop on a personal and spiritual level. In China many people practice Qi Gong every day, even outside on the streets.
It is easy to practice as it does not take much space to do these movements. Also, it helps people to slow down as the movements are done very slowly.
I had some problem with movement in my shoulders when I first learned Qi Gong, but after practicing this method several times a week that problem totally disappeared and has not come back.
