No, it has nothing to do with material things, but all to do with your feelings and emotions.
A dear friend called me today and said that one of her best friends had started to act so strange lately. When my friend shared feelings that were challenging, her friend did not want to hear about it and dismissed those feelings as unnecessary.
I am not saying that I "own my stuff" all the time, but I have got much better at realizing when it has to do with the other person and not with me. It is not always easy to remove yourself from what others project to you, but mostly it is their stuff, not yours.
To own your stuff is one of the ways to become more and more your own person and feel empowered.

Himalayan Crystal Salt - pink salt
For a long time we have been told that salt is not good for us. That is causes fluid retention and that it can cause disease.
Some years ago I first heard about Himalayan Crystal Salt and that it was having a different chemical composition than regular table and sea salt. And that it was much better for our bodies. Salt in its original form consists of sodium and chloride plus many important minerals and trace elements. For some reason these minerals and trace elements have been considered impure and have been removed when making the salt that we buy in stores. What is mostly left is sodium and chloride which the body seems to feel is a poison.
By eating too much salt (which many people do today) they overload their bodies with the "toxic" salt. "Their bodies now try to isolate the over dose of salt. In this process, water molecules surround the sodium chloride in order to ionize it into sodium and chloride to neutralize it. For this process, the water is extracted from our cells and the body has to sacrifice its most precious cell water in order to neutralize sodium chloride. In doing so, the dehydrated body cells die." (Quote from Himalayancrystalsalt.com).
For many years I did not think too much of the kind of salt I ate. I did not like the salt with added iodine so I avoided that, but I used sea salt and sometimes herbal salt. The sea salt is probably better than the "straight" table salt with added iodine, but I learned earlier this summer that sea salt (as well as table salt) often contains an anti-caking agent which is not good to consume on a regular basis.
Therefore, I recently bought Himalayan Crystal Salt which is supposed to be mined somewhere in the Himalayan area and it is said to still contain all the important minerals and trace elements that regular salt has been stripped of. It is also said to actually regulate the water balance in the body.
The salt has a completely different color than regular salt. It is slightly pink and is actually very pretty. If you can say that a salt is pretty. :) When I tasted it for the first time I actually could feel a "rush" in my body which I know is a signal that something is good for me. This, of course, can never be proven, it is just my own, inner sense of what is good and not good for me. You do not need that much salt when using this kind of salt. Also, the Himalayan Crystal Salt does not contain any anti-caking agents which means that it can cake together but to me that is not any inconvenience.
There has been much talk about this salt being a scam and that it is really road salt from Pakistan. I am sure there are companies imitating the original product. As always, you have to use your inner guidance when you buy these kinds of products. The salt I bought was the kind that has been endorsed by the people who started selling this kind of salt and it has a stamp of authenticity.
The company that is selling the original Himalayan Crystal Salt has also published a book called "Water & Salt" which is a very interesting book about many misconceptions we have about both water and salt.

I will most likely not use the salt I have been using most of my life as this crystal salt just feels so much better for my body.

A new start
This blog has been dormant for quite a while. Not sure why really but life seems to have "taken over" for a while.
Will have to see how spirit moves me to write posts. Much has happened in the world since I last wrote. The big earthquake and nuclear disaster in Japan in March, extreme (very extreme) weather patterns here in the US, the ongoing financial meltdown in the US and the world, new discoveries regarding the Sun and a new comet that many people say is the beginning of the big change in 2012, etc, etc.
Not sure exactly where to start but there is much going on for sure. In my personal life there have not been as many changes. The only area would be my job. If you live in California there are many budget cuts everywhere, and these have happened also in my workplace. Also, most of the spring I felt a need to change my diet to some extent and also take extra supplements as a response to what had happened in Japan. The US West Coast was hard hit by what came from Japan, despite what officials were telling people.
This was just a short "warmup" and I am hoping to be back soon again.

Creating a home
Most of my life I have felt a bit "alien" here on Earth. When my dad was still alive he and I used to say that we were walking a somewhat lonely path as most people did not seem to have the same interests and longings as we did.
In the past few months I have come face to face with a strong feeling that has always been inside of me. It is a feeling of not really being able to create a home here on Earth for myself.
I believe that things usually happen for a reason and if you are awake and alert to what is going on around you, it is possible to understand and work with issues that come up. I am renting a house where this issue of not feeling at home was exaggerated and I got some very deep understandings and was able to work with these issues in different ways and move through them.
The interesting thing is that when you have done your "homework" you are usually ready to move on but right now I am stuck in a rental contract for another 7 months. When those kinds of situations are going on, then you just have to do the best you can and do the preparatory work so that things can start falling into place.
What I usually do is to go inside and ask to get guidance. I also do intuitive readings that are very helpful in getting answers. It is also important to focus on the kind of feeling you want to have in your new situation. You can use music, images etc to create that feeling. This cottage gives me a nice feeling of a home.

I am ready to find and create my home now! Maybe 2011 will be the year when that happens. I hope so. :)

Happy New 2011
A new year with a blank slate. We can create whatever we want.
Lately I have experienced how your own feelings and thoughts can create actual physical manifestations. For me they were less positive. Just to know that can make a difference and once you are aware of this pattern you can choose something different. I am choosing to do my best to change things around this year. :)
A while ago I found some great, very relaxing music videos (well mostly pictures actually) on YouTube uploaded by Paldrom. There are 9 of them and each one has its own quality.
This is the first one. If you like it you can click on number 2 and so on.
Listen and enjoy!
