What is the Law of Attraction? One of the more famous "experts" on the Law of Attraction are Esther and Jerry Hicks. Also, there was a film in 2006, "The Secret," which in 2007 became a book. The film and book swept the world and became a huge success. Even Oprah Winfrey had two episodes on her show that covered this concept.
A short and sweet summary of the Law of Attraction is "The essence of that which is like unto itself, is drawn."
If this is true, then we are fully responsible for our lives. We cannot blame anyone. Whatever I have going on inside of me - thoughts, feelings, etc - will attract/draw similar energies into my life. For many years I did not believe this, but after having experienced situations where I could see the results of my thoughts and feelings, I am now a believer.
Still I am not as "disciplined" as I would like to be with my thoughts and feelings. But at least I am aware of what I am doing. That is always a first step. And I have a choice in every situation to choose how I want to deal with it.
The book "Excuse me Your Life is Waiting" also talks extensively about this law. Lynn Grabhorn gives many, many examples from her own life and how her feelings created situations that were either pleasant or less pleasant, depending on what she was feeling.
The Law of Attraction seems to work and it works both ways - negative and positive. It is up to us how we choose to use it and which results we want to have in our lives. I think it is fascinating and it definitely gives life a more interesting perspective when you start realizing that it is up to you what kind of life you want.

2010 a New Year
New Year resolutions have never been my "cup of tea." It seems better to make changes as I go along and things happen. If you are in touch with your inner guidance and intuition it is not too hard to pick up on things you need to take a look at and, if you are willing, make appropriate changes.
A new year gives many people a feeling of "newness" and it is like an unwritten piece of paper. What I have found though is that whatever I have inside of me will carry over into the new year. The new year is not like a "magic wand" that will create miracles in my life unless I am willing to make changes.
It would be very convenient to say that the new year would make all these things happen that I want in my life. When I was younger I sometimes used to blame people and circumstances for all kinds of things that happened in my life. As I grew older and, hopefully, "wiser" I learned that I am the only one who can create changes. I would like it to be different :) but it doesn't seem to work that way.
One thing that seems important to me, from time to time, is to clear out old stuff. And then I am not only talking about "inner stuff," but also things. When you clear out things that are not useful any longer or maybe worn and just old, you create room for new things to come into your life. I cleaned out my closet yesterday and it felt good to throw out old, worn clothes that I was not using anyway.
Since I came to the US I have learned not to have very many possessions and I like that. When I moved from Hawaii (where I lived for about a year a few years ago) I only had 15 boxes that I shipped to California. That was all of my possessions. Now I have accumulated some more stuff (which by the way is a great word) but still I do not have very much.
2010 is a new decade and I think (or rather feel) it will be a decade of many changes for humanity. Some will be more pleasant than others and it will become more and more important to learn how to follow your heart and intuition to be safe and healthy.
Happy New 2010!
